The Bishop Grandin Marching Ghosts are western Canada's only high school based marching show band. The program has been in operation since 1986 and has grown to presently include 130 Brass, Woodwind, Percussion and Colourguard students from Bishop Grandin High School in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The Music Department was formed in 1976 with a band of 21 members. In addition to the Marching Show Band, the program includes Concert Band, Jazz Band, Winterguard and Percussion ensembles. Bishop Grandin music students perform for, on average 100,000 people each year. Our members are consistently recognized both locally and abroad for their high musical and performance standards.
We are sponsored by a very hard-working Band Parent Association that provides the primary funding for all of the music department's activities including equipment, performances and musical tours. Thanks to the efforts of the Bishop Grandin Band Parent Association, the Bishop Grandin Marching Ghosts have been featured performers in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the United States and all across Canada.
The Bishop Grandin Marching Ghosts are dedicated to serving the musical youth of the Calgary Catholic School System. We are committed to the growth of our members, and we strive to provide them with the tools to reach their fullest potential not only in performance, but in all facets of life.
