New World Symphony
1998 was a landmark year for the Bishop Grandin Music Department, moving into a beautiful new band room and adding a third music teacher. Mr. Jim Laurendeau teamed with Mr. Riegel to bring the classical strains of Antonin Dvorak to the marching field. The Ghosts were featured performers at the Heritage Festival in Seattle, Washington and they were awarded the "Spirit of Seattle". 1998 marked another innovative partnership as the Ghosts worked with Calgary's other high school-based marching band - the Central Memorial Golden Rams - to perform in the Ponoka and Calgary Stampede Parades, winning gold prizes at both.
