The Mission
The first ever World Association of Marching Show Bands World Championships were staged in Calgary in July 1996. Bishop Grandin proudly represented their city and their school in this contest as they presented music from the motion picture "The Mission." The show had a uniquely religious theme inspired by the spiritual music of Ennio Morricone. With musical arrangements by Mr. Elmer Riegel and visual design by future band director Jim Laurendeau, the Ghosts shocked the world by scoring a gold award and finishing 4th in the world!
